Four Years of Sponsoring Ataxia.scot

Four Years of Sponsoring Ataxia.scot

In 2024 we celebrated ten years since the dotScot domain was launched (see the story here). This year we celebrate another important milestone.

It’s four years since we first started sponsoring the competitions organised by Ayrshire’s own Iain McGeachin and the wonderful causes these competitions support.

When we first met Iain, he was already busy doing charitable work and raising funds and awareness of Ataxia via his website Ataxia.scot (see Ataxia Explained).

The value of the work that Iain was doing was obvious to us. We climbed on board and have never left!

Here’s Iain himself explaining the relationship between ataxia.scot and DotScot Registry better than we could:

The wonderful people at dotScot have been sponsors of various of my fundraising schemes for the last four years (usually schemes that involved either fundraising or raising awareness of FareShare’s nationwide coverage – one scheme even ended up with publishers putting brand new bestselling books into the hands of FareShare volunteer warehouse staff, as a way of thanking them for their selfless, and pretty vital, work).

Without the financial backing of dotScot, many of these projects would never have seen the light of day.

And dotScot are now sponsors of the “Street Library” – which allows people & businesses to use their very own books to raise funds for their very own favourite charity.

Iain’s work has attracted a lot of media interest over the years which is referenced here. Please explore the ataxia.scot website for more.

In short, thanks Iain for inviting dotScot to be a part of all the great projects that you’ve organised in the last four years and here’s to the next four!
